An MBA is a special master’s degree program designed for business professionals. In such a program, the focus is on business and management concepts. The degree typically takes two years to complete. While enrolled in an MBA in General Management program, students learn all the aspects of being a manager. The program usually doesn’t focus on a specific industry, giving students the ability to choose their own specialty classes. General business courses in a program typically include accounting, finance, marketing, operations, information technology, economics and public policy. A focus is put on developing and understanding leadership principles, along with honing analytical and research skills.
