About Course

Cardiothoracic surgery is a part of medical science involved with the surgical treatment of diseases that cause trouble to one of the most sensitive parts of the body i.e. thorax, otherwise called the chest. The main goal of the course is to provide health care to patients who need cardiothoracic surgical care including comprehensive and good-quality pre-operative and postoperative care. The course imparts to enrolled students basic knowledge in anatomy and physiology related to the practice of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, cardiology, chest medicine, critical care management and imaging technology. Students are taught in detail about the causes and principles underlying the uses of drugs and therapeutic treatments for restoring the affected regions of the thorax to normalcy.
