Communicative Arabic

Certificate Course in Communicative Arabic is a six month Part time course with 120 teaching hours. The candidate will be declared eligible for receiving the Certificate in Communicative Arabic on his completion of the course of studies prescribed, and passed the examination.

Communicative English

6 Months

This course helps students to learn how to communicate with people using English language functions. They will cover the range of theoretical approaches making up the contemporary intellectual vocabulary of English and English Studies. This course will also develop their awareness of practices in language use and their application to various contexts.

Basic course in German/ French

6 to 12 Months

The certificate program in German/French language is a basic course that aims at providing basic knowledge and skills of the language to the students. Certificate course in the German/french language is an entry-level certification in the domain of the respective language. Students are equipped with oral, communicative, and usability related aspects of the language during the duration of the course. There is an option for students to enhance their knowledge in the language by going for Bachelor’s and Master’s level course in the long run. The course is mainly focused on providing the basic understanding of the language to the students.

The focus of career counseling is generally on issues such as career exploration, career change, personal career development and other career related issues.

School Counselling Programme

A school counselor works in primary (elementary and middle) schools and/or secondary schools to provide academic, career, college access/affordability/admission, and social-emotional competencies to all students through a school counseling program.

Fostering Strengths: A Certificate Course in Psychosocial Work with Adolescents & Young People

The focus of existing training programs for helping professionals working towards psychosocial well-being of adolescents and young people tends to be restricted to: an individualistic paradigm, disengaged from social realities, to an overarching policy and advocacy level, with a lack of emphasis on individual distressor to a public health perspective with themedicalization of adolescent and youth concerns, disconnected from psychosocial experiences.

Couple and Family Therapy

The proposed course equips the participants with a theoretical understanding of the nature of difficulties faced by couples and families, ways of assessing and conceptualising the same and with methods of applying this knowledge to intervene with couples and families.

Disaster Management

Disaster management is emerging globally as a field of study that deals with an increasing range of risks and vulnerabilities that societies, nations, and communities have to understand and learn to cope with. The expansion of the scope of the term disaster beyond its original definition, referring solely to natural hazards, has made disaster studies an important aspect of the way we study the impact of shocks, of varied origin and types, on society and peoples. Even if the subject began originally mostly in the practitioner’s domain, it is now increasingly a field of study that combines theoretical perspectives and understanding with a range of skills and techniques that have become increasingly sophisticated.

IFRC TISS Certificate Programme in Disaster Management

Since 2013, in partnership with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Tata Institute for Social Sciences (TISS) has been running an Online Certificate Programme in Disaster Management. Fast Track Course in French

Chinese

Certificate Course in Chinese Language may be taken in the Putonghua stream or the Cantonese stream. The courses are intended for those whose mother tongue is not Chinese. There are 15 hours per week of instruction in classes with a limited number of students. Chinese certificate programs introduce students to the Chinese language and provide basic lessons on pronunciation, grammar, writing, reading, translation and communication standards. Depending on the program, some may require that students already have basic familiarity with the Chinese language. These programs also provide an overview of Chinese culture, and some programs require students to spend time studying in China. To complete these programs online, students will need access to a webcam, Adobe Flash and Microsoft software, and a media player.

Diploma in Yoga is a beneficial subject for those who wish to undertake further research program of the subject. It is necessary for candidates to be medically fit for undertaking this study as any ailments or illness can make the learning of the program impossible and can lead to further complication of health. After the course completion, the students are competent to take up jobs of Instructors and Trainers at reputed universities, hospitals, wellness centers, Fitness hub, etc. The course aims to train and prepare candidates for the exoteric aspects of Yoga making them competent to lead an esoteric lifestyle.

Myanmarese Language

3 Months

This course is designed to teach English-speaking students how to read the Myanmar (Burmese) language using a streamlined direct approach. It provides pronunciation for consonants, vowels and special symbols without requiring the student to learn the names of each. It explains how to pronounce stacked consonants, weakened vowels and voiced consonants using simple, well-illustrated examples. It includes a lesson on Myanmar tones described in a way that has made sense to a lot of English speaking students. It also includes a description of the difference between spoken and literary Myanmar. The course uses the pronunciation of English words as a basis for explaining Myanmar pronunciation.
