PhD IN GLOBAL AFFAIRS
3 year
The course work aims at providing inputs in various areas of Global Affairs to enable the scholars apply them in their research. Four core courses across different IR disciplines have to be completed during the first semester. These courses will provide basic knowledge and skills that the Ph.D scholars must be familiar with while conducting research in emerging issues of IR and global affairs. These will include the use of latest methodologies and other research tools. The coursework and the research work is interspersed with two semester breaks (for full time), and four semester breaks (for part time) during which the scholars are expected to work on their areas of interest. The scholars are expected to finalise the research proposal during the intervening periods of semester two and semester three (summer vacations). The scholars are required to do four such area/subject specific masters level elective courses, which can be opted from not only the list of electives mentioned in this document but also from other schools of JGU, subject to its relevance to the research focus of the proposal.
