A branch of chemistry, industry chemistry finds numerous applications in our day to day life. Industrial chemistry is an important part of industrialization and drives the economic growth of a nation. It finds applications in pharmaceuticals, food processing, petrochemicals, polymer industry and in most other manufacturing industries. It helps in the transformation of raw materials into useful products and derivatives by applying certain physical and chemical processes. An industrial chemist applies his knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering to optimize chemical processes for the benefit of mankind. The field also finds application in material science, metallurgy, waste management, water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, textiles, cosmetics, dyes and paints, fertilizers and many more such industries. As such there are numerous job opportunities in the field.
