The “Polytechnic in Food Science and Home Economics” established from the year 2008-09 to educate the student in food science and nutrition to co-up with education in agriculture. The institute is the first of its kind in the state of Gujarat. It is proposed to offers education in Nutrition and Dietetics to meet the increasing demand of health and nutrition and processed or preserved food due to globalization scenario of the 21st century that has changed the lifestyle of Indian population towards the western countries.
