About College
Janta Kelvani Mandal was established in 1964 and they started J. M. Shah Arts & Commerce College in the same year to open up the door of higher education to the rural youth of this socially and economically backward region of Jambusar, situated at equi distance from Bharuch and Baroda. Prior to this, the girls of this area were deprived of the access to higher education. At the time of inception, the strength of the college was a modest 127 students including 23 girls. Today in the fifth fruitful decade, the strength of the college has grown to 681 students including 343 girls. With untiring efforts by the dedicated faculties to impart quality education, our institution has created a distinct place of pride in the mind of the people of this area and esteemed position on the academic map of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. The institution was started with Arts & Commerce at UG level.
