Ram Chandra Uniyal Government Post Graduate College (Formerly Government Post Graduate College) Uttarkashi was established on 30th June 1969 with the sanction of three subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, three lecturers and twelve student strength only at graduation level.In 1970-71, Government of Uttar Pradesh sanctioned two more subjects at undergraduate level viz., Zoology and Botany. In 1972 – 73, the college have got the sanction of arts faculty with the subjects Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, Geography, History and Political Science at undergraduate level. Commerce faculty came in existence in 1974.
