About College

Institute of Science was established in 2004 under the aegis of Nirma University with the intent of providing quality education to post-graduate students whose career objectives go beyond academics. The Institute offers the Master of Science in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Microbiology) and provides broad training encompassing science, business, and ethics to students enabling them to explore wide career opportunities. The Alumni are well placed in Bio-pharma companies like Reliance Life Science, TCS Life sciences, Ranbaxy Ltd, Quintais, India, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Intas Biopharmaceuticals and Zydus Cadila etc. or pursuing their Ph. D. in reputed Research Institutions in India and abroad (Europe, USA, Canada and Australia). The Institute has professionally qualified and experienced permanent faculty members with expertise in various areas of Biological Sciences. The Institute offers Ph.D. programme in various areas of Biology e.g., Immunology, Genetic Engineering, Protein Folding, Cytogenetic, Neurobiology, Agriculture and Industrial Microbiology, Physiology to name few. Through recognized research centres Ph.D. programmes in the areas of Physical Sciences are also offered. A balanced mix of academicians and professionals with rich academic and research experience contributes to the Institute’s academic excellence. The quality and progress of the Institute is coordinated and ensured by Institute of Science Advisory Committee (ISAC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Institute.
