Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. It is the first women’s college established in the year 1969 by the Govt. of Tamilnadu for the upliftment of women. Presently, the college offers 13 UG courses and 8 PG courses in the first shift and 5 UG courses in the second shift. The college is housed on a spacious land, spread over 20 acres. Nearly 3100 students are studying in this college. The college is located on the national highway towards Tiruchirappalli at about half a kilometre from Namakkal bus stand and 15km from railway station.
