H.S. College Udakishunganj is one of the old college of Madhepura district and only one constituent college of Udakishunganj subdivisional Headquarter. It was established in June 1956. The college is situated in rural area and undergraduate teaching along with three year Honors course in Art faculty to boys and girls of the socially, economically and educationally backward area. The college become constituent in 1977 under Alit Narayan Mithila university Darbhanga, Bihar. Presently it is permit constituent unit of B. N. Mandal University, Madhepura, Bihar. The college is also recognized under the section -2(f), and 12(B) category of UGC. The college has a large landed area of about one hundred acres, including 16 acres of campus. The total number of students studying in the college is about 3,000. The college imparts education to the students of arts streams only however, there is a great demand of science and commerce stream because this is the only constituent college of the subdivisional Headquarter. Besides this college also backs education of some practical subjects like, Home science, Psychology, geography, Music, sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and mathematics. The affiliation as above at reams is to be granted by HRD, Bihar Got Patna. The college have well equipped Library with Reading room. Library had been Utilized by several research scholars. The college has large play ground in the campus, the campus surrounded by external boundary wall etc. The college has also being selected for Centre of Excellence, by the state Government of Bihar. RUSA has also selected this college for upgrade to modal Degree college, The college has needs some specific infra structures for up graduation to modern Degrees College.
