B Parameshwarappa Arts and Commerce College, Holalkere was established in the year 1976 by esteemed educational society namely Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Education society(R.), Sirigere which is well known in Karnataka for its outstanding service in the field of rural education. The prime intension of this is to provide higher education to economically backward students who are deprived of this facility. His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji started in the name of Bandebommenahalli Parameshwarppa, the then MLA of Holalkere Assembly constituency. B Parameshwarappa Arts and Commerce College, upholds the ideal enshrined in the Taralabalu Education Society and it also assimilates and incorporates in its cultural milieu all that is universally good. B Parameshwarappa Arts and Commerce College is located in Holalkere, a Taluk Head Quarter of Chitradurga Dist. The place is famous for its “Boyalu Ganapathi” Temple. The Statue of Ganapathi installed in this open air Temple is known for the architectural contribution of palegars of Chitradurga, who have ruled this region for about 300 years. The literary meaning of ‘Holalkere’ in kannada language is “a place surrounded by perennial water tank”. The College is within the stones throw from the National high way 13. It is known for its scenic beauty with its lush green trees and vast playground conducive for effective and healthy learning.
