The college was established on 19th July 1969 with a vision to be a class institution in developing manpower in the field of graduation through quality education with a keen view to coverage interdisciplinary branches and emphasize to establish a bridge between rural and urban divide and working with a mission to uplift rural youth who are from Socio–Economically weaker sections as the graduates with employable qualities and focusing them to the competitive world. H.P.P.C Government First Grade College is located in Challakere city (popularly known as oil city) about 30 kms from the historical city Chitradurga, Karnataka state. The city is well connected by road (SH-48, SH-19 and near to NH-13, NH-04) and railway between Bellary and Chikkajajoor junctions. The college facilitating as the premier institution for the people in surrounding rural areas with poor economical background.
