Davangere was a commercial capital of Karnataka two decades ago. It was also called as Manchester of Karnataka has its economic and commercial activities. The total geographical area is 5975.97 Sq. km and the present population of the District is 19,46,905.The first Government First Grade College of the district.Started in 1992 with two courses - B.A and B.Com, with 22 students 02 teachers and 01 non teaching staff.Present number of courses are - 12 UG (BA, B.Com, BBM, B.Sc.) and 4 PG. MA (Kannada) MA (English) M.Com and MBA.Now total Students strength is 3801. Teaching Faculty is 67 Regular and 95 Guest faculty. 14 permanent non-teaching
