About College

The idea of setting up the college is to train women for various positions in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Central Reserve Police Force, Paramilitary Forces, and Central Industrial Security Force among other allied services. The Society also wants to increase women's representation in the armed forces. Generally, due to a lack of awareness on career prospects and the procedure involved for enrolling in the forces, many students from rural areas give up midway despite having the zeal to serve in the armed forces. This college will facilitate such students from rural backgrounds to enroll in different armed forces. To train the students, the Society is roping in retired officers from the armed forces of the rank Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, and Major. The admissions to the college will begin this academic year itself with a starting intake of 280 seats. Students will be admitted based on a written test followed by a physical efficiency test. Apart from preparing students for the armed forces, they will also get regular academics at this college. “We want to increase women's representation in the armed forces. The students admitted to the college will be trained for all the armed forces,” RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary, TSWREIS, told Telangana Today. This apart, the Society has proposed to establish Nursing and Fine Arts colleges exclusively for girls in Warangal and Medak districts respectively. The Society has also proposed 10 residential degree colleges for boys in each of the erstwhile 10 districts. The TSWREIS has already launched a Social Welfare Residential School for Fine Arts at Malkajgiri last year which trains students in Indian classical music, classical dance, painting, western musical instruments, and theatre besides regular academics.
