The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) is dedicated to the critical growth of knowledge concerning human civilization. It undertakes interdisciplinary studies on crucial concerns of society and human development, highlighting religious and cultural diversity, and promoting harmonious relations between various sections of society through inter-faith dialogue, multi-cultural studies and federal .HSS consists of the Department of Islamic Studies and the U.G.C.- Centre for Federal Studies. The School offers a number of full-time courses at the doctoral (Ph.D. Islamic Studies; Ph.D. and M.Phil. Federal Studies), P.G. (M.A. Islamic Studies/ Human Rights) and U.G. level (B.A. Hons. Islamic Studies); and part-time Diploma and Certificate courses in Persian language.power sharing. On a micro plane, it addresses intra-society, inter-society and state-society issues. Most of its studies have succeeded in reorienting mainstream disciplines of knowledge and related developmental and identity discourses in India and abroad. The faculty combine academic excellence with policy solutions. Being served by nationally and internationally acclaimed experts, students are exposed to well-devised self-learning modules of teaching and research. One of its added strengths is the publication of books, monographs, occasional papers and a peer-reviewed journal.
