About College
Here a resolve was made to open a degree college for the education of the children of thousand workers of railway workshop and this persistent efforts resulted in the formation of the college named Sharmik College on August 15, 1957. The College came into existence through the initiative taken by a group of eminent academicians and social activists who recognized the importance of higher education in the development of the state. In the year 2000, the college was allocated its own land. Housed partly in heritage structures, the college infrastructure and facilities are continuously being renovated while new facilities are introduced.
