Ramanujan College is one of the constituent colleges of University of Delhi. It was previously known as Deshbandhu Evening College and functioned in the evening hours at the same building of Deshbandhu College. It has approximately 1700 students studying various bachelor's courses in the disciplines of arts, commerce and science. In July 2010, Deshbandhu College (Evening) was reconstituted into Ramanujan College (Morning), focusing on mathematics, information technology and business studies, and psychology. Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887-1920), after whom the college is named, and the subject of the 2015 Indian film The Man Who Knew Infinity the picture of the main buidling The college is named after Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887-1920), an Indian mathematician and autodidact. Some of the Alumini include Famous NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar and Gulshan Kumar (T series) .But then it was known as Deshbandhu Evening. Ramanujan College, named after one of the greatest Indian mathematician, is one of the constituent college of University of Delhi. It was previously known as the Deshbandhu (Evening) College. Presently it has approximately 2500 students studying various under graduate courses in the disciplines of Humanities, Commerce, Management and the Sciences. For the past decade the college has been on a path of unprecedented growth. With the introduction of many new courses, and a rapidly expanding infrastructure that seeks to provide the latest facilities, the college boldly looks forward to new challenges of the future.
