Government General Degree College at Kalna–1,Vill—Muragacha,Post--Medhgachi, Dist—Burdwan, is a public academic institution under the administration of Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal and affiliated under The University of Burdwan, Rajbati, Burdwan--713104 ,West Bengal for the study of undergraduate degree courses of both General and Honours stream. It has been established as per the cabinet decision in the month of September 2013 and inaugurated in July 2015 and the academic session started on 13th July 2015. At present the College has three streams - Arts, Science and Commerce offering courses on B. A. Honours in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Philosophy and Education with thirty five seats each; B.A. General with sixty seats; B. Sc. Honours in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with fifteen seats; B. Sc. General with twenty five seats; B. Com. Honours in Accountancy with twenty five seats and B.Com General with forty seats.
