Gotan College is in Raina, Block II of Purbo Bardhaman District in West Bengal. This College located at the north of Gotan village market, is Government aided. The college stands in the midst of a beautiful scenic ambience. On the east, within a distance of just one kilometer, runs the river Mundeswari. Just two kilometers away, towards the south, runs the Damodar river. This river – bathed ambience is replete with extremely fertile fields and is filled with green produce throughout the year. Apart from paddy and potatoes, a great variety of vegetables are harvested here. The entire atmosphere is flooded with soothing winds. A large pond, popularly known as ‘ Baropukur’, lies in front of the college. On the south of ‘Baropukur” in this zero pollution area, stands Sri Sri Ramakrishna Saradamoni Ashram. Just three kilometers south east of Gotan, lies the border of the Hooghly District. Gotan is just 72 kilometres from Kolkata and 40 kilometres from the district headquarter, Burdwan town.
