About College

the college administration is bound to abide by the government policy of education as the college is completely governed by the state government. this college was carved out of the already existing co-educational college with an intention to impart education exclusively to girl students in a care free academic environment in the year 1982. this college caters to the academic need of the girls of the semi urban area inhabited by gond tribes in the south-west of satpura plateau. syllabi for undergraduate courses are unified for the state. the curriculum for undergraduate courses is designed and handed over to the universities by the central board of studies. there is a representation of some teachers in the board of studies as well. the central board syllabi offer ug (under graduate) courses with elective subjects in arts faculty. science faculty offers regular options. home science faculty offers pg (post graduate) programs in human development, food and nutrition along with regular undergraduate b.sc. (h.sc.) program. in commerce stream, the university offers m.com. in 4 groups viz, accounting, management, taxation and marketing, along with self-financed pg programs in hindi, english, sociology, sanskrit, economics, and psychology. the curriculum is divided into monthly teaching plan which, as a result, is recorded in daily diaries, and registers. the college conducts &ldquocollege chalo abhiyan&rdquo in the feeding institutions to motivate students towards higher education. the admission graph exhibits a steady increase in the ug programs. regarding admission procedures, transparency is maintained through centralised online admission by the department of higher education mp. the college observes the academic calendar issued by the state government and the internal evaluation termed as cce (continuous and comprehesive evaluation) constitutes various modes of testing the performance of the students. the college is although not recognized centre for research yet the college administration motivates its students to take up research work at other places. 90% of the regular staff is ph.d. some of the preceptors have taken up projects from various funding agencies like ugc, mapcost, etc. library has inflibnet membership. in-house projects are a part of the curriculum in the final semesters of both ug and pg courses. the institute has plans to establish a research centre in the future. most of the teachers have published their articles, research papers in various books and journals with isbn and issn. the college possesses three sources of funding (a) state government (b) ugc (c) janbhagidari funds. the college is committed to the effective and optimum use of its available infrastructure. the college enjoys the wi-fi facility, smart class, lcd projectors, computer lab, departmental libraries and a central library housing 46000 books. a hostel is being expanded to accommodate 500 occupants. further building proposals including classrooms, administrative block, laboratory etc are at hand. personal counselling is provided to the students by their respective teachers at the time of admission. lectures, workshops, training modules are organized by the career guidance cell in self-employment and entrepreneurial skills. welfare schemes like post-metric scholarships for sc/st/obc students, merit scholarships like gaon ki beti, pratibha kiran, handicapped, minority and general schemes like awagaman and awasiya are available from the state government. personal accident insurance policy is applicable to all the students. the college at present has a considerable small play ground to accommodate certain games. the college possesses a modified gym and facility for indoor and outdoor games. many students in the last 5 years have represented at the state, national, international level. the continuous formal/informal meetings, interaction, discussion between the principal and the staff result in ensuring the discipline, academic environment, use of innovative teaching methods in an organizational culture. various committees are constituted for training policies, plans and execution of projects. staff council is the institutional statutory decision making body iqac, ugc, mahila prakoshta, jan shikayat, alumni association, grievance redressal cell, purchase committee, work towards their respective important areas.
