Spread over an expanse of almost 13 acres and in close proximity to the National Highway, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Govt. P.G.College Bhilai 3 has an enviable location. It is situated almost halfway between the district headquarters and the Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, to which it is affiliated. Established on 15 th August 1983, in the modest campus of the Municipal School at Bhilai-3, it was soon to possess a building of its own . The Foundation stone of this new building was laid jointly by the then Chief Minister of M.P., Shri Arjun Singh and the Education Minister Shri Motilal Vora on 16 Feb. 1984. The building was inaugurated by Shri Motilal Vora the Chief Minister of M.P. on 23 Octuber 1985. An institution of higher education in this area was a top priority for the Govt. of M.P. at that time as students had to traverse long distances sometimes even exceeding 30 kms to seek admission in the nearest colleges. Bhilai-3 is almost centrally located for the forty plus rurally located schools, within a radius of twelve kilometers. It especially became a boon for the girls who could now pursue higher education within commutable distance.
