Laxmikanta College, Bangriposi named after Laxmikanta Das, Local Educationist, is situted on the Bank of river Bhudhabalanga at Bangriposi the biggest block of Mayurbhanj. The river Budhabalanga is on the south & N.H.06 on the other side. The college bears a solitary look most befitting for a centre of Higher Education. Through late, with the popular will and craze for Higher Education the college was establishment in the year 1990. The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co-operation of the people of Bangriposi in general and leadership of Laxmikanta Das Ex-Headmaster, Bangriposi High School in particular. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Laxmikanta Das on 12th May 1990. Since then the college has not looked behind.
