Dr. BRKR Govt. Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad is the premier Institution in the State of Andhra Pradesh catering to the Education of Ayruveda. The College is named after Sri Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, the first Chief Minister of Hyderabad. The Institution was started in 1935 as a private college in Hyderabad State, by pioneering Vaidyas like Shri Shankar Prashad Hargovind, Sri M. Ranga Charya, Sri D. Ramana Raju, Sri Janardhan, Sri Ramanujam Swamy, Sri Radha Kishanji, Sri Narsing Prasad Markandeya and Sri Ramdas. PRINCE OF BEARER inaugurated the College in the year 1935 in Sultan Bazar. In 1941 His Excellency, Highness and Nizam of Hyderabad issued “FIRMAN” making it a Government Ayurvedic College and Pandit Radhakrishnaji was appointed as the first Principal of the College.
