The college is one of the many institutions started by the Maratha Mandal, Belgaum. The Maratha Mandal was established in the year 1931 with a sole ambition of spreading the education among the weaker section of the society. The college has been started in the year 1985 with the aim of promoting higher education in Belgaum District.
