About College

was set up on the 14th of August, 1995 in the cherished memory of Late Ramesh Chandra Saharia, the renowned educationist and Ex-Home Minister of Assam. The main objective of the college is to provide teachers training and facilitate the development of education in the backward region of the Bodoland Territorial Council now, in Udalguri District of Assam. Since 1995, the college has been offering a degree in B.Ed. under the aegis of Gauhati University. The college building in Tangla was formally inaugurated by Dr. Hiralal Duarah, Vice-Chancellor Gauhati Universitybuilt in a plot of land 0 .66 acre ( Two bigha) in Tangla town given by the family of Ramesh Chandra Saharia for the college. The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Educational Trust is the sponsoring, governing and managing authority of the Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College,
