Dr. B.K.B. College established in 1967 has gradually emmerged to be a premier institution of higher education in a purely rural ambience. This centre for higher education came into being under the able leadership and guidance of a host of leading citizens of Puranigudam. It was, in fact, a very adventurous preject to which all the people rich and poor contributed their services. The college was initially located at Bapujee Bhavan and had to pass through a prolonged period of strain and stresses till the date of its final recognition from UGC
