About College
Rangapara College was established in the year of 1979 and it was affiliated to Gauhati University in the year 1980. The college was brought under deficit grant in aid system from 01/01/1987. The college was included under section 12(B) of UGC Act from 20/03/1996 . In the year 2004 the college was accredited B+ garde by National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC). Again in 2011 the college was re-accredited ‘B’ grade. Beginning its humble origin from Rangapara Town Hall, it was shifted to the present. Sprawling campus of 41 acres(122 bighas) amidst lush green of tea gardens on 16th august 1979. The expansion of the college has been phenomenal from only eight students to two thousand students in the past three decades. The faculty strength has raised eight fold. Infrastructurally, today it is one of the remarkable institution in the region with digital classroom with LCD projectors, modern Library and Seminar rooms. Recently the college has initiated the process of making its campus disabled friendly with new ramps and washrooms added to the main building. The college is blessed with computer center, upgraded and well-furnished hostels, indoor sports complex and playground of National standard.
