About College
Government First Grade College was established at Nyamathi in 1991 with a view to provide higher education to the students of rural area. The College had a humble beginning in the premises of the Pre-University College. It started functioning in its own building from 2009. The college is located in a 6 acre campus. It caters to the needs of the students of Nyamathi and other neighboring villages. The College has yet to get some more rooms to meet the requirements of the increasing number of students. The expansion of the building is under process. Though the college is considered as a rural college, it stands equal to many other colleges of urban area as far as its results of examination are concerned. The four ranks since its establishment is a testimonial to the conducive educational atmosphere in the college. The college caters to the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular needs of the students. It has made provision for learner friendly activities in the form of counseling, extension activities, quality assurance and so on. A group of dedicated teachers, administrative staff, and a well maintained library are there to help and support the students. The college ensures that the students get the benefit of all the welfare schemes and projects introduced by the government from time to time. It is the dream of the college to be recognized as one of the best institutions and it has been trying constantly towards fulfilling this dream.
