“To climb up a steep hill… start with slow pace” Government First Grade College, Jagalur. Started its journey of educating the stakeholder during the year 2007 with meagre number of students of about 40 but today it is catering more than 550 students through 04 UG programmes. With 09 permanent and 35 guest faculties, 02 non-teaching staff. In the process of expanding the knowledge especially among the rural students the role of the institution is pivotal. Since the college is located in under developed region most of the education aspirants are from the poor rural families or from depressed classes, the institution is striving its level best to strengthen the student’s caliber by providing quality and goal oriented education to bring them to the mainstream of the society. To sustain quality in higher education and provide diversified opportunities to the learning stakeholders, any institution should be equipped with better infrastructure and teaching facilities. But Government First Grade College, Jagalur sadly deprived from the same which any institution direly needed. To bring the SC/ST/OBC students to the main stream the institution is eager to furnish the required coaching classes, personality development and career guidance to excel in their academic performance. To boost and refresh teaching aptitude among the teachers the institution unconditionally encourages the teaching faculty to adopt innovative teaching practices, self-propelled growth in R&D through participation and contributions in National and International Conferences, Seminars, Symposium, Workshops and initiation of academic exchange programs both at PG and Doctor level. As the result of our dedicated faculty members we proved to say our B.Sc student got 4th rank in 2013 – 14 academic year with 50 percent distinction overall result.
