Convergence Institute of Media, Management and Information Technology Studies, often referred to as Commits, set up in 2001, is an institute is located in Bangalore, India. It is an affiliated institute of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. Commits was set up as a postgraduate media and communications institute in Bangalore, and inaugurated by then Governor of Karnataka, Smt Rama Devi, in August 2001. Its objective is to enable students to position themselves as multiskilled and multifaceted media professionals. Commits is a small institute with a big reputation. The emphasis is on all-round development, where theory and practice are given equal weightage; where academics and industry-work go hand-in-hand; where teachers are also professionals and professionals are teachers. At Commits the students are not just taught, they are given an experience, which changes them into better professionals and mature human beings.
