S. D. P. College of Teacher Education, Tihu was established May 1, 1994 and the college was named college of Teacher Education, Tihu at the time of its inception. The land measuring 2B 4K 12 lechas and an Assam type & RCC building of 3000.72 sq.ft. (approx.). Were donated by a generous lady Mrs. Bulurani Pathak, daughter of late Doloiram Pathak and Mrs. Sudharani Pathak on 27- 03-1997. As per her desire, the college was named after her parents. Hence, it is renamed as S. D. P. College of Teacher Education, Tihu.
