HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION Rangia T. T. College was established in the year 1987 by the local people of Rangia Sub-Division under the district of Kamrup. The college was permitted by Gauhati University in 1991 and then was affiliated from the session 1993-94. It was recognized by ERC-NCTE in the year 2004. The Govt. of Assam accorded concurrence to this college in the year 2010. Rangia Teacher Training College (RTTC), situated at historically renowned place Randia-Rangia, is one of the premier institutions of teacher education not only in Assam but also in whole of India. The college has been catering teacher education to the prospective teachers in the region and offering B. Ed. Degree since its establishment in 1987. The medium of instruction is English. The college is being managed by a Governing Body approved by the Govt. of Asssam & Gauhati University. Rangia is the headquarter of Rangia Subdivision under the district of Kamrup (Rural). National Highway No. 31 has divided the town into two halves. The Rail City Rangia is a junction of the North-East Frontier Railway along with its Divisional Headquarter. The town has 36 secondary educational institutions of Assamese, English, Hindi, Bodo and Bengali medium. Out of these ten schools of different mediums are utilized for Practice Teaching of the student-teachers.
