Anand Institute of P.G Studies in Arts,The fruitfulness of any tree depends upon its roots. The roots of AIPS lies in Shri RamKrishan Seva Mandal. The source of the emergence, existence and development of our Institute is Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal. Since the last six decades Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal. has rendered remarkable services in the fields of education, health and social services in Anand. Maintaing the values of Shri RamKrishan Pramhans and Swami Vivekanand , the motto `Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay` was accepted on 15th August 1954 by socialist of this area Late Gordhanbhai Patel (Vakil Saheb) who established SRKSM with the support and co-operation of his team. Undoubtedly our roots are very strong and SRKSM is the Gangotri of many Institutions. One of the oldest and most reputed colleges of SRKSM is Anand Arts College which is considered as the mother of our institute. Anand Arts College was the first college which initiated Masters of Arts in Co-operation(self Finance) in 1991.Following the same ritual in the year 2005, P.G Department was initiated in collaboration with Anand Arts College which offered subjects like English,Gujarati,Hindi,History, Library and Information Science (B.Lib and M.Lib (part time)). Initially for three years (2005-2008) P.G Department was run by Anand Arts College. But in the commencing year 2008 the P.G Department established itself as an individual institution which is now known as Anand Institute Of P.G Studies in Arts. A noteworthy feature is that the courses of Library and Information Science(B.Lib and M.Lib)are offered only by universities in particular but AIPS which is affiliated to Sardar Patel University is the only institute throughout the state of Gujarat which provides these courses.Our Institute alos has the credit of 100% placement in Library and Information Science. We have successfully completed 9 years of qualitative education and when we are entering in the 9th Year, we feel a sense of pride and honour. We have very well accomplished the motto of our Instituion-“Widening horizons of knowledge”, Where Knowledge is Power. Our institute has toiled a lot and achieved glory in the past. We hope the same for the future. The great success which we have achieved is due to the sense of dedication and respect of teachers and students towards Hon. Director & Principal.
