'Dr Anita Baruah Sarmah College of Education is a teachers training college established in the year of 2004.This College was established earlier by NERIM educational society in the name and style of ‘NERIM Teachers Training College’. However the name of the college was later proposed as ‘Dr Anita Baruah Sarmah College Of Education’ in the year 2006 after the premature demise of Dr Anita Baruah Sarmah, one of the chief founders of NERIM Educational Society. Accordingly on the recommendation of Governing body of the college the change of name was approved by Guwahati University, the affiliating body, through its executive council resolution no 2006/2/29/20 dated 21/01/2006.(NCTE) .
