Sree Narayana Mangalam College Maliankara symbolizes the steady advancement of an underdeveloped village, with its vast population belonging to the socially and economically backward classes, towards social and cultural regeneration. The college is managed by the Hindhu Matha Dharma Paripalana Sabha, a voluntary organization formed in 1882 by the inspired followers of Sree Narayana Guru in Vadakkekkara region of Ernakulam District. Guru called upon the underprivileged and downtrodden to “ Strengthen through Organisation” and to “Emancipate through Education”.In the endeavor to fulfill the exhortations of Guru , the HMDP Sabha started educational institutions beginning with a Lower Primary School and now manages 9 prestigious institutions . Bearing in letter and spirit the name of Sree Narayana Guru, the College was inaugurated in 1964 by Sri. Sahodaran Ayyappan, an ardent disciple of Guru.
