Katihar a tiny industrial town in eastern Bihar, bordering Bengal happens to be a center of knowledge and learning. The growing pressures of aspirants create a demand of an institution of higher education. Local academics and the land-donor Sri K. B. jha contributed whole heartedly and the institution was established offering basically the intermediate course in Arts and Commerce. In 1979 it was affiliated to L. N. M. University, Darbhanga. By 1983, the college was accredited to give courses in I. Sc., B.A., B. Com and then B.Sc. K.B. JHA COLLEGE; KATIHAR emerged as a premier co-educational degree college by denoted academic community and co-operating members of Governing body.
